DescriptionTechnical description: Brass. `Patent Conical Bore' long (Military) model large bore; fixed mouthpipe obviating shanks, slide pull for change from B♭ to A between 1st and 3rd valves with restraining rod, bore increased incrementally in the ten arms of the valve, main and A slides. Water-keys on main tuning-slide and A change slide. Valve type: 3 Périnet-type valves, top-sprung with spring outside stem, alignment by key on piston. Cornet. Nominal pitch: Bb A. Bell cutoff = 1200 Hz. Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 9.6 9.0; internal taper of both tuning bits 9.5 8.6; external taper of both tuning bits also 9.5 8.6. Inscribed on bell "TESTED / BY / W. O'KEEFE" / coat of arms /"Patent / 1903 / RUDALL CARTE & CO / Manufacturers / 23 / BERNERS STREET / OXFORD STREET / LONDON / No 5171". Valve casings and caps inscribed "88", "89", "90". Decorative features: Engraved top and bottom valve caps. Playing accessories: 2 tuning bits, and music card holder. Black top opening box, cleaning brush.
