DescriptionTechnical description: Pear wood; one piece; 8 finger-holes (one plugged) plus thumb-hole; broad, irregularly-shaped windway; holes positioned slightly towards right-hand side (taking window as centre). Renaissance fingering. Stamped "CVF". Performance characteristics: The instrument is a flûte à neuf trous with the eighth finger-hole a duplicate to be closed according to whether the player has the left hand or right hand lowermost. Usable pitch: Sounding A⁴ = c 443 Hz (c 10 cents above A⁴ = 440 Hz). |
