DescriptionOverall size: 392; bell 137. Bore: tuning shank 10.7. Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 11.0 10.6. Technical description: 1 coil; brass; tuning shank with ligature binding screw. Rings at front and back bow. Chain attached to mouthpipe for securing mouthpiece. No bell garland. Inscribed in Arabic letters "asakir i sahane". Decorative features: With ornamental plate inscribed along the lines of Ottoman workmanship, but not genuine. Ring at near bow missing. Screw a replacement. Usable pitch: With mouthpiece (2503) plays about 15 cents below A4 = 440 Hz. Performance characteristics: Well in tune apart from flat 2nd mode. |
