Technical description: Wood covered with varnished copper foil, with plain brass garland and brass crook; crook receiver ferrule brass with scalloped edge. The saddle for the F# key for R4 (its key hole at mid point of the bow) is mounted on a plate spanning descending and ascending tubes between the F and G key holes; no overlapping key touchpieces for right hand keys. Standard 11 key model with 12th key for L0 high on descending tube, apparently a key for B2 with half the effective tube length of the usual L1 fingering for this note.
Keyhead type: flat, round.
Keymount type: brass saddles.
No inscriptions.
Decorative features: Inside of bell painted red as was usual on serpents of the time.
Crook unsoldered: at stay of main bow, at two stays between mouthpipe and bow, and one leg of m.t.s. Screws to secure saddle of D key for L2 to body failed. Pad of key at main bow detached from keywork and stuck to chimney of tone hole. Several pads missing.
Lent with, probably formerly used with and possibly supplied by maker with mouthpiece (3368).
