Technical description: Hand beaten copper conical-bore horn curved to a quadrant; the metal is very thin; with brass mounts and fixed mouthpiece of brass; external diameter 24.0; flat rim contour; maximum bite curvature 1.75; cup diameter 15.5; deep intermediate cup shape with sharp-edged throat; cup depth 16.5; bore minimum diameter 4.8. No inscriptions. Performance characteristics: Plays the notes B b4 (50 cents above A₄ = 440 Hz), B b5 (at A₄ = 440 Hz) and F5 (20 cents below A₄ = 440 Hz). |
