DescriptionTechnical description: Boxwood with ivory ferrules and brass keywork. Eight pieces: mouthpiece, barrel, two upper sections (both B♭), middle section for the fingers of the right hand, lower section with keys, bell. Wide ivory ferrule on the upper section marked "B♭". Levers for L4, tone-hole and key for R4 mounted in a fusiform swelling. SATK. L4 not extendable. Second section presumably not belonging, does not fit middle section. L0: @I{T; speaker. L1: @I{T; throat A♮. L2: @I{T. L3: @I{T. L4: @I{E₃/B♮₄; F♯₃/C♯₅. R1: @I{T. R2: @I{T. R3: @I{T. R4: @I{T. G♯₃/E♭₅. Keymount type: turned wooden rings and swelling. Keyhead type: flat square. Condition: Mouthpiece missing. Repair History: Anti-crack pins and early ivory repair to top upper section. Cracked barrel glued. Previous ownership: Keith Puddy; André Bissonet, Paris. Inscribed on all pieces with 8-petal flower / ".SIMIOT / A LYON" / 8-petal flower; on middle and lower section and on bell also "B♭"; on second upper section "B". |
