Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 12.0 11.6. Technical description: Brass, oval form. Short tuning slide. Valve type: 3 rotary valves. Inscribed on front of bell "ERNST DAVID / JNSTRUMENTENFABRIK" (sic) / "BIELEFELD"; on underside of each key touch "11". With fitted case, black, possibly original. General usage of type: The Kuhlohorn, a gracefully curved form of flugelhorn, was developed c 1885 for church and evangelical use in the German brass church music tradition, associated with Johannes Kuhlo (1856 1941).
