DescriptionTechnical description: Cocus wood with german silver ferrules and keywork.Four pieces: mouthpiece, barrel, body, bell. Speaker tone-hole at the front of the instrument, curved speaker key, chimney. Speaker liner projects c 2mm into bore, no tube in thumb-hole. Additional vent key for the better intonation of throat A♮ and B♭ corresponding with plate for R1.C sharp mechanism. At least five tone-holes have been re-positioned suggesting an experimental instrument. 14 keys, 4 rings, 1 plate, 7 rollers. L0: T; speaker. L1: T; throat A♮. L2: T; spectacle + vent; throat A♭. L3: T; spectacle; cross E♭₄/B♭₅. L4: C♯₄/G♯₅; E₃/B♮₄; F♯₃/C♯₅. R1: plate corresponding with vents for throat notes and better intonation of B♮₃/F♯₅; side E♭₄/B♭₅; side F₄/C₆ corresponding with upper spectacle + vent; side trill key for throat A-B♮ and B♭-C; side trill key for throat G♯-A or C₆-D₆. R2: T + spectacle + vent. R3: T + spectacle (forked B♭₃/F♮₅); cross B♭₃/F♮₅. R4: G♯₃/E♭₅; F₃/C₅. Keymount type: screwed in pillars. Keyhead type: modern. Mouthpiece missing. |
