Bore: minimum 10.5; distal end of mouthpipe t.s. 10.7; 2nd v.t.s. 10.7 (1st, 3rd & 4th stuck); 670mm from bell end, c 17.0; c 436mm from bell end, 24.0. Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 10.7 not tapered. Technical description: Brass with german silver trim. Valves give lowering of 2, 1, 3, 3 semitones respectively. Fitting for music card holder. Valve type: 4 rotary valves; rubber (?) buffers on top caps. Inscribed on embossed circular german silver plaque on bell "V.F. _ERVEN & SYNOVÉ / HRADEC KRÁLOVÉ _SR."; in centre of plaque a shield incorporating "_" with a tuba as a monogram, surmounted by a crown, with a laurel wreath below; stamped at edge of bell "377", with a triangular symbol beneath. Plywood case with baize lining, artificial leather covered. |
