DescriptionTechnical description: German silver; cup, rim and throat have been crudely modified with soft solder. Cup volume 1046; shape quotient 1.118. Overall size: length 64.8; external diameter 25.0. Sounding length: cup depth 7 (not original). Bore: cup diameter 16.8 (not original); minimum diameter 3.4. Depth of taper: shank depth 36.6. Diameter of taper: maximum 10.0; minimum 8.8. No inscriptions. Decorative features: narrow knurled band at top of shank. Cup interior apparently altered: possibly filled in and turned to give a shallower cup. Purchased with cornet in Bb etc (216). |
