DescriptionTechnical description: The round, concave, pernambuco stick has leather lapping and a leather grip, and ends in a modern head with a silver headface and ebony headface lining. It has tracks into which the frog fits. The screw-mechanism, squared, tortoise-shell frog has a silver ferrule and heelplate. The ebony button is octagonal with a rim and has silver rings and a mother-of-pearl button eye. Measurements: Weight: 59.Hair length: 651.Balance point: 269.Head height: 24.6.Head width: 9.5.Face length: 23.8.Tip diameter: 6.3.Frog diameter: 8.75 at 150mm.Nipple range: 1.1 to 1.25.Period of oscillation: 1.38.Distance from pivot to tail: 66.3.Button length: 13.65.Ferrule width: 13.1.Frog + stick height: 26.8.Frog top length: 44.55. Inscriptions: The stick is stamped "W.E. HILL & SONS", upside down on the thumb side over the frog; the stamp is 1.73mm high and 19.30mm wide. Underneath the frog, the stick is stamped "30" in front of the stick mortise. Under the stick, in front of the screw eye the frog is marked "TT", and behind the screw eye "3". Decorative features: Instead of decorative eyes, the frog has silver fleur-de-lis. There is a crack in the ebony headface lining on the finger side. There are small dents on both sides of the head. The area over the stamp is scratched. The tortoiseshell is scratched on the thumb and finger sides. The tortoiseshell is worn inside the crook of the frog.
