DescriptionTechnical description: 12-sided black lacquered wooden ends with metal button plates. Wooden palm rests, ivory thumb rests and leather hand straps. 25 buttons for left hand, 31 for right. Bellows covered with black leather. Left hand end with cloth covered collar with adjustable screw and D ring. Compass C₃ to E₆. Embossed and gilt on left hand strap, "LACHENAL & Co / MAKERS / LONDON, ENGLAND"; embossed and gilt on right hand strap, "LACHENAL & Co. PATENT No 4[illegible] / LONDON"; engraved on left hand button plate in a scroll "2611"; engraved on right hand button plate in a scroll, "LACHENAL & Co / MAKERS LONDON". With square leather Lachenal case lined with purple velvet, probably original, with key. Inside case, two handwritten cards showing layout of buttons for each hand. Usable pitch: A₄ = 440 Hz.. |
