DescriptionSoundboard of wide grained spruce. Bridge of ebony with ivory saddle. Rosehole 79mm diameter. Rose in a geometrical shape of dark brown wood in a cut flower design with a twelve-pointed star of ebony and ivory. Purfling around the soundhole consists of four pairs of inked lines. Purfling around the edge of the soundboard of a single pair of inked lines. The back is made of 21 ribs of figured maple with ebony spacers. End clasp at the bottom of figured maple with ebony edge. There are ten ivory string-holding pins, and a hole which originally held an endpin. Dark brown wood edge around the entire back next to the soundboard to provide extra thickness and gluing edge. Neck and pegbox of one piece of beech, flowing smoothly into each other. Ten pegs of ebony with ivory button at the ends. Square terminal of ebony with inlaid eight-pointed engraved ivory star. Nut of ivory. Neck 173mm long, 47mm wide at the nut and 57.5mm wide at the body join. The fingerboard is of ebony and is radiused. The neck and fingerboard are both chamfered on their adjoining surfaces forming a ridged rather than a smooth join. There are 12 frets.
