Bore: mouthpipe at c 30mm from mouthpiece receiver (minimum bore) 13.0; m.t.s. at c 545mm from mouthpiece receiver, tuning slide bore 17.1; centre of valve cluster at c 888mm from mouthpiece receiver, v.t.s. bore (3,2,1) 17.1; auxiliary m.t.s. at c 1051mm from mouthpiece receiver, tuning slide bore 17.1; at 2628mm from bell end, c 44.8; at c 1993mm from bell end, 63.3. B = 0.35. Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 13.9 - 13.2. Inscribed on bell "CLASS / A" / "50 MEDALS OF HONOUR" within banner / monogram FB / "BESSON & CO / Prototype / 198 EUSTON ROAD / LONDON" / five pointed star; on side of valve casings and stems "7", "8", "9"; on side of 2nd valve casing "BESSON & CO / BREVETE" within ellipse with five pointed star, and "65108".
