DescriptionThis dark-stained boxwood instrument has silver keys and ferrules at the sockets and reed well and a small onion-shaped baluster. It is stamped on all three sections with five-pointed star / “SCOTT / LONDON” / star. Despite a small interior crack in the flange of the bell, using a modern reed the instrument is very responsive with good intonation.
Technical description: Dark stained boxwood with silver keys and three silver ferrules at the sockets and reed well, there is no bell ring. Sockets and reed well are all unlined. There is a small onion shaped baluster at the top of the instrument. All keys are levers except for the octave key and the rings. The axle for the rings is on the left of the instrument. There is an inward flange at the base of the bell. L0: 8. L1: T. L2: T. L3: TT. L4: G♯; C; low|B; E♭-dup. The C key is above the G♯ while the low B and E♭-dup keys are in the normal position below the G♯. R0: no sup. R1: T; B♭. R2: R. R3: R; F. R4: low|C; E♭; C♯.
