DescriptionTechnical description: Dark stained boxwood with silver keys and three silver ferrules at the sockets and reed well, there is no bell ring. Sockets and reed well are all unlined. There is a small onion shaped baluster at the top of the instrument. All keys are levers except for the octave key and the rings. The axle for the rings is on the left of the instrument. There is an inward flange at the base of the bell.

Performance characteristics: Using a modern reed, the instrument is very responsive with good intonation. The cross fingerings are usable and even preferable to some of the keyed notes which, in some cases, are rather bright in tone quality and sharp in pitch.
