DescriptionTechnical description: Cocus; 2 silver ferrules, matching those of the body of (5437); reform embouchure with oval embouchure-hole; fits (5437) perfectly and is in matching design. Overall size: 123 mm Overall size of (5437) with this head: 312 Embouchure to foot of (5437) with this head: 263 In decorated felt case (does not fit in case for (5437)) Performance characteristics: With this head, (5437) does not speak as easily in the bottom register as with its original head (possibly because of cork placement), but speaks more easily on top notes. Possibly the two heads were intended as alternatives for playing at different pitches. Usable pitch: When used with (5437), instrument plays at sounding A⁴ = c 447 Hz (cork at 6.5mm from centre of embouchure-hole, not readily movable). |
