Technical description: brass, with plain garland, probably added in repair. with 5 crooks (5739a), (5739b), (5739c), (5739d), (5739e), Valve type: 3 double-piston valves with Old Mainz levers and return springs, arranged for operation by the right hand. Repair History: Garland apparently added, since it is undamaged but covers creases in the bell. Overall size: 376; bell 118 Sounding length: minimum (in G) no crook, 1556; overall aircolumn lengths of crooks: (5739a) 195, (5739b) 315, (5739c) 422, (5739d) 552, (5739e) 813. Bore: mouthpipe at c 40mm from mouthpiece/crook receiver (minimum bore) 10.5; m.t.s. at c 456mm from mouthpiece receiver, tuning slide bores 11.1 - 10.9; at 778mm from bell end, c 10.6; at c 272mm from bell end, 15.0; at 17.1mm from bell end, 66.5. B = 0.77 (in G). Bell cutoff = 1300 Hz.
