DescriptionTechnical description: Silver-plated brass; loop in main bow. Red plastic handle. The trade name "Weltklang" was used from 1953 until 1990 by VEB Blechblas und Signalinstrumentenfabrik, especially for student quality instruments. Overall size: 1225; bell 261. Sounding length: minimum 3146 without compressing spring buffers. Bore: at c 18mm from mouthpiece receiver (minimum bore), 13.95; descending slide, 14.0; ascending slide, 14.95; m.t.s. bore, 15.95; at c 791mm from bell end, 21.15; at 37.6mm from bell end, 140.6. B = 0.70. Bell cutoff = 700 Hz. Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 14.3 - 14.0. Inscribed on front of bell "WELTKLANG"; on back of bell near bell stay "Made in GDR / for / RUDALL CARTE & Co Ltd." and "71477". Usable pitch: A⁴ = 440 Hz. Side opening case with key. General usage of type: Made for the British market for the G bass trombone which had, however, disappeared by 1982.
