Description3 valves. Technical description: brass; long model; ligature tuning slide at mouthpipe; two finger-rings. Valve type: 3 Périnet valves, bottom sprung; alignment by key on piston. Clamp screw missing from ligature tuning slide; possibly one knob missing from mouthpipe ferrule. Finger ring a replacement. Overall size: 696; bell 127. Sounding length: minimum 1999. Bore: mouthpipe at c 100mm from mouthpiece receiver (minimum bore) 10.8; centre of valve cluster at c 978mm from mouthpiece receiver, v.t.s. bore (3,2,1) 10.8; at 1000mm from bell end, c 10.8; at c 374mm from bell end, 15.25; at 19.2mm from bell end, 75.4. B = 0.78. Bell cutoff = 1100 Hz. Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t 11.2 - 11.0. Inscribed on shield shaped plaque on bell "SÄCHSISCHE MUSIK / INSTRUMENTENFABRIKEN / KLINGENTHAL/Sa.", within the centre a trademark comprising in the upper half a gear wheel and crossed hammers, and in the lower half the letters "V E B"; on side of valve casings "73", "74", "75". |
