DescriptionTechnical description: African blackwood with german silver keys, bell rim and socket and reed-well linings. There is a wide (14mm) ferrule at the middle socket on the lower section. Simple octave keys. The R2 plate is independent of the R3 ring although both close the brille and they are on the same axle. Depressing the low C key lowers the R2 plate and the R3 ring and closes the brille. There is no forked F vent. The wood appears to have been varnished and this has rubbed off in a number of places.
