Technical description: silver-plated brass; medium rim contour; maximum bite curvature 2.0; intermediate cup shape with smoothly blended throat. Cup volume 5441; shape quotient 1.178. Overall size : length 74.7; external diameter 37.7. Sounding length: cup depth c 24. Bore: cup diameter 24.4; minimum diameter 6.7 at c 25. Depth of taper: shank depth 36. Diameter of taper: maximum 13.0; minimum 10.6. Stamped at top of shank "F.BESSON / LONDON". Given by donor with and probably formerly used with trombone (4401).
