DescriptionBrass. Shanks for B♭ and A, crooks (single-coil) for A♭ and G. Differences in workmanship would suggest that the two shanks were not made by the same person as the two crooks: for example both crooks have long uniform taper but the shank for A is barrel-shaped and the shank for B♭ is uneven. Valve type: 3 rotary valves with hinged top action touchpieces. Repair History: Several parts of the valve action are replacements by Phil Parker, 1981. The shanks and crooks are probably not original. |
Other InformationInscribed on bell near rim "HALARI FOURN.SEUR DU ROI BREVETE A PARIS"; monogram stamped on bell; inscribed on applied diamond shaped silver plaques on shanks "SI.B", "LA"; on crooks "LAB", "SOL". With unfitted case. |
