DescriptionTechnical description: Ebony with ivory ferrules and silver keywork. Five pieces: mouthpiece, barrel, upper section, lower section, bell. Very elegant instrument. No cross E♭₄/B♭₅, but side F₄/C₆. L4 levers in saddle. 13 keys, 1 roller on end pivoted F₃/C₅.

Keymount type: pillars and plates, saddles. Keyhead type: salt spoons.
Condition: Mouthpiece missing.
Repair History: Shackleton recorded `speaker key broken, part A♭ key lost, ivory thumb-rest broken off, ivory bell-ring missing'. All these things have obviously been repaired.
