Description

Technical description: Blackwood with german silver ferrules and keywork. Four pieces: mouthpiece, barrel, one-piece body and bell. Boehm system with articulated C♯₄/G♯₅, fork B♭₅, alternative G♯₃/E♭₅ and extended to low E♭; forked B♭ vent by means of large tone-hole rather than additional vent; B/C♯ coupling near C cup instead of crows-foot. L0: T + ring F₄/C♮₆; speaker. L1: T + ring F♯₄; throat A♮; throat A♭. L2: T + E♭₄/ B♭₅ corresponding ring. L3: T; cross E♭₄/ B♭₅. L4: C♯₄/G♯₅; F₃/C♮₅; E₃/B♮₄; alternative G♯₃/E♭₅; F♯₃/C♯₅. R1: T + ring; side E♭₄/ B♭₅ via correspondence; trills 1-2-3. R2: T + ring B♮₃/F♯₅; B♭ via correspondence. R3: T + ring B♮₃/F♯₅; B♭ via correspondence; cross B♮₃/F♯₅. R4: G♯₃/E♭₅; E₃/B♮₄; F₃/C♮₅; F♯₃/C♯₅; E♭₃. Keymount type: pillars. Keyhead type: modern. Overall size: 713; 644 to top of barrel. Bore: 15.3. Stamped lightly near top of body "BERCIOUX / PARIS"; stamped deeply on mouthpiece, barrel, body (above maker's stamp) and bell "J.R. LAFLEUR / LONDON". Usable pitch: Low pitch, A₄ = c 435 Hz.
