Description4 valves. Technical description: Brass, with german silver garland, ferrules and stay mounts. Short model; loop in bell section. Main tuning-slide at foot of leadpipe. With water-key on main tuning-slide. Fitting for music card-holder. Length of m.t.s. 102mm, allowing increase of air column length by nearly 204mm. Valve type: 4 rotary valves, in line; clock spring in drums; cork buffers mounted on valve spindles. Overall size: Overall length 845; bell 218 - 219. Bore: at c 35mm from mouthpiece receiver (minimum bore), 12.2; m.t.s. at c 375mm from mouthpiece receiver, tuning slide bore 14.2; centre of valve cluster at c 1532mm from mouthpiece receiver, v.t.s. bore (4,3,2,1) 14.2; at 1729mm from bell end, c 14.95; at c 816mm from bell end, 21.1; at 29.1mm from bell end, 124.0. B = 0.66. Bell cutoff = 700 Hz. Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 13.3 - 12.6. Inscribed on valve plates "7". Inscribed on plate on lead pipe "0494 0061". Performance characteristics: 4th valve lowers by a perfect 4th. Usable pitch: Plays c 75 cents above A⁴ = 440 Hz. |
