DescriptionTechnical description: The round, concave, brazilwood stick is varnished, has a leather grip and `whalebone winding' and ends in a modern head with an ivory headface. The screw-mechanism, rounded, ebony frog has mother-of-pearl decorative eyes, a mother-of-pearl slide, a two-piece silver ferrule with a wooden ferrule wedge, a nickel underslide, and a metal heelplate. (The ferrule is made up of two pieces, one on the bottom surface of frog and the other forming the curve of a `D' shape.) The ebony button has two nickel rings, a mother-of-pearl button eye, and is octagonal with a rim. Measurements: Weight: 81g. Hair length: 610mm. Balance point: 271mm. Head height: 28.8mm. Head width: 13.05mm. Face length: 30.9mm. Tip diameter: 7.4mm. Frog diameter: 9.7mm (measured 200mm from the end to avoid the winding). Period of oscillation: 1.39. Distance from pivot to tail: 82.65mm. Button length: 19.0mm. Ferrule width: 15.5mm. Frog + stick height: 32.0mm. Frog top length: 51.2mm (measured on the edge of the underslide). No inscriptions. The headface is cracked from the top of the head mortise on the finger side. The button eye is cracked. There are dents in the top of the heel of the frog. General usage of type: Trade bow.
