Keymount type: knob. Keyhead type: saltspoon. Overall size: 316 mm Sounding length: embouchure to foot, 259 mm Bore: conical Stamped with flower and "RUDALL & ROSE / 38 SOUTHAMPTON ST / STRAND / LONDON" with another flower. Performance characteristics: [Original range D⁴ - A⁶ (sounding E♭⁵ - B♭⁷ if in D♭)]. Few notes playable in present condition. Usable pitch: Sounding A⁴ = c 457 Hz (or in D♭, sounding A⁴ = c 430 Hz); comparison with the pitch of other Rudall & Rose and Rudall, Rose & Carte instruments made around this date suggests that the instrument is in C. |
