DescriptionTechnical description: Boxwood; 5 sections; silver keys; 5 ivory ferrules plus cap; graduated, wood-covered tuning-slide; graduated screw-stopper; metal-lined head; oval embouchure-hole; overlapping low C/C♯ touches. Keymount type: ring/knob. Keyhead type: pewter plug, with metal-lined key-holes. Repair History: Cap probably a replacement; B♭ key bent very close to body, probably for ease of sliding thumb. Stamped "CLEMENTI & CO / LONDON / IMPROVED / PATENT". On head stamped with two snakes curled round a winged staff. Overall size: 666mm Sounding length: embouchure to foot, 594mm Bore: conical Performance characteristics: Range C⁴ - A⁶. Usable pitch: A⁴ c 438 Hz. |
