DescriptionTechnical description: Blackwood, with german silver ferrules and keywork. Five pieces: mouthpiece, barrel, upper section, lower section, bell. Very similar to (5278), seems to be the blank for a combination instrument in C/B♭, missing the inner metal tube. The upper section, the barrel and the bell have features of the sliding facility. Further evidence: the upper hole of the double speaker has no tone-hole. The intonation of the instrument is very poor. The lower tone-holes are extremely wide. The bell is tiny and has a device to take the missing metal tube. 17 keys, 4 rings, 1 covered hole. Patent C sharp of modern type but with abnormally large heads to cover wide tone-holes.
