Bottom bow removable, secured by ligature. Main tuning-slide extension piece for B♭, overall length 218.Fitting for music card-holder. Valve type: 3 Périnet valves, bottom sprung; alignment by key on piston. Serial number: 79. Overall size: 900; bell 164. Sounding length: minimum (in C) 2351; tuning slide extension adds 322 to air column length. Bore: mouthpipe at c 40mm from mouthpiece receiver (minimum bore) 11.0; m.t.s. at c 446mm from mouthpiece receiver, tuning slide bore 14.4; centre of valve cluster at c 722mm from mouthpiece receiver, v.t.s. bore (1,2,3) 14.4; 1176mm from bell end, c 20.4; c 900mm from bell end, 28.8. B = 0.47. Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 11.8 11.5. Inscribed on silver shield on front of bell: "F.S" within posthorn motif / "83 MEDAILLES ET BREVETS" within ribbon / "SUDROPHONE BARYTON / UT ET SIb / F. SUDRE / DIPLOME D'HONNEUR / 13 Boulevard Rochechouart / FACTEUR DU CONSERVATOIRE / ET DE L'ARMÉE / A PARIS". Stamped on bell below shield "79"; on back of bell "Modèle Déposé". Stamped on side of valve casings and top and bottom caps "7", "8", "9"; on 2nd valve casing "PERCE 7 / F.S / BREVETE" within ellipse, and "1890"; on oval silver plate on membrane device "Brevetés"; on inner slide of membrane device "14".
