DescriptionTechnical description: Blackwood with german silver ferrules and keys. Five pieces: mouthpiece, barrel, upper section, lower section, bell. Ebonite mouthpiece with a long table (Buffet/Crampon) and german silver ligature and reed cap. Slim barrel, slightly bulbous in the lower third. Upper section: straight speaker, speaker liner projects c 7mm into bore. Upper tenon lined with metal. L0: T + ring F₄/C♮₆; speaker. L1: T + ring F♯₄; throat A♮; throat A♭. L2: T + E♭₄/ B♭₅ corresponding ring. L3: T; cross E♭₄/ B♭₅. L4: C♯₄/G♯₅; F₃/C♮₅; E₃/B♮₄; F♯₃/C♯₅. R1: T + ring; E♭₄/B♭₅ via correspondence; trills 1-2-3. R2: T + ring B♮₃/F♯₅; E♭₄/B♭₅ via correspondence. R3: T + ring B♮₃/F♯₅; E♭₄/B♭₅ via correspondence; cross B♮₃/F♯₅. R4: G♯₃/E♭₅; E₃/B♮₄; F₃/C♮₅; F♯₃/C♯₅. Keymount type: pillars. Keyhead type: modern. Serial number: 725. Overall size: 669; 598 to top of barrel. Bore: at C₄ hole 15.0; at F₃ hole 15.3. Stamped with star / "STRASSER / MARIGAUX / LEMAIRE" / star / "MADE IN FRANCE", also on lower section (two crossed clarinets and a clef) also on upper and lower sections at back "725"; also on bell "PARIS / S.M.L."; mouthpiece stamped "EVETTINE" / (Buffet Crampon trademark). With plated reed cap. Repair History: The mouthpiece is not original but of the same period as the instrument. Usable pitch: Plays at A₄ = c 444 Hz; can be used at A₄ = c 440 Hz.
