DescriptionTechnical description: Brass, chromium-plated. Body single-walled tube with raised tone-holes. Four pieces: mouthpiece, barrel, upper section, lower section and bell in one piece. Modern ebonite mouthpiece with a long table and ligature. Barrel cylindrical funnel form. Straight speaker with liner projecting c 4mm into bore; thumb-hole has a straight `bridge' extending c 28mm below the hole to give the feel of a wooden clarinet; thumb rest (shaped) has a similar `bridge' c 10mm long. The `barrel' has a long tenon fitting into the top section and functioning as a tuning-slide. Shaped thumb rest mounted on `bridge' to give the feel of holding a clarinet of wood. Bell almost continuous. Fitting to take music card holder on lower section. L0: @I{T; speaker. L1: @I{T; throat A♮. L2: @I{T; throat A♭ (also possible for L1). L3: @I{T; cross E♭₄/B♭₅.
