Inscribed on bell "SUPERIOR / CLASS / HAWKES & SON / Denman Street / Piccadilly Circus / LONDON / 45069"; on side of valve casings "1", "2 / HAWKES & SON / LONDON / 6", "3"; on main tuning slide "L.P." twice. Possible high pitch main tuning slide missing. Usable pitch: Plays c 20 cents below A4 = 440 Hz. Purchased with and possibly formerly used with mouthpiece (631). Specific literature references: G.S.
