DescriptionTechnical description: Copper, styled like a natural trumpet in a single wide oval coil, but with the working air-column taking a shorter path along the crossbar; ligature tuning at mouthpipe. Overall size: 1076; bell 117. Sounding length: minimum 1960. Bore: mouthpipe at 96mm from mouthpiece receiver (minimum bore) 10.85; at 980mm from bell end, c 11.15; at c 304mm from bell end, 15.75; at 14.7mm from bell end, 70.1. B = 0.79. Bell cutoff = 1400 Hz. Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 11.0 not tapered. Inscribed on bell "C. MAHILLON / FOURNISSEUR BREVETE / DE L'ARMEE / ET DES / CONSERVATOIRES / BRUXELLES / 3". Decorative features: Embossed german silver oval medallion above inscription on bell with heraldic motif including a ribbon inscribed "L'UNION FAIT LA FORCE", and at bottom "C. MAHILLON BRUXELLES".
