Bore: mouthpipe at c 35mm from mouthpiece receiver (minimum bore) 8.6; centre of valve cluster at c 494mm from mouthpiece receiver, v.t.s. bore (3,2,1) 10.8; m.t.s. at c 549mm from mouthpiece receiver, tuning slide bore 10.9; at 890mm from bell end, c 10.9; at c 285mm from bell end, 15.4; at 12.0mm from bell end, 72.0. B = 0.65. Bell cutoff = 1400 Hz. Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 9.5 - 9.0 (takes a cornet mouthpiece). Inscribed "Köhler's HANDELIAN Trumpet / 1851/1852 / KÖHLER & SON / MAKERS / 116 VICTORIA STREET / WESTMINSTER / LONDON / 1ST E.R.V.". 3rd valve tuning-slide inscribed "E♭" with line for datum position; alternative main tuning-slides identified by oval silver plates inscribed "F" and "E♭". Possible original tuning slides for D and C missing. Performance characteristics: Up to 10th natural note easy to play.
