DescriptionTechnical description: Silver-plated brass. Tuning-slide, which is restrained by a screwed collar, pulls out to put instrument in A. Stocking on tuning-slide. Flat un-wired bell rim with a 4mm wide brass garland. Valve type: 3 rotary valves controlled by piston action; springs in piston cases. Inscribed on bell garland "U.S.A. PAT. 2106281 / C.S.R. PAT. 6296-35". Inscribed on mouthpiece receiver ferrule "130 MADE IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA". Overall size; 494; bell 110 Sounding length: minimum 1359 Bore: mouthpipe at c 20mm from mouthpiece receiver (minimum bore) 9.9; m.t.s. at c 219mm from mouthpiece receiver, tuning-slide bore 11.2; centre of valve cluster at c 624mm from mouthpiece receiver, v.t.s. bore (3, 2, 1) 11.2; at 680mm from bell end, c 11.2. At 14.8mm from bell end, 71.4. B = 0.69. Bell cutoff = 1300 Hz. Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 10.6 - 10.3. Decorative features: Touchpieces operate through cylinders designed to imitate piston valve casings.
