Pair of cymbals of bronze with leather handle, attached with traditional cymbal knot. A sleeve is fitted to the central hole. Dome diameter on both cymbals is 83mm. Shows clear evidence of hammer marks from its manufacture - marks more prominant on one of the cymbals. Cymbal 1: weight 480g; cymbal 2: weight 465g including leather c 5g.
General usage of type: Two early clashing cymbals, probably a pair, would have been used for Janissary type music along with triangles and tambourines.
