Description3 valves. Technical description: Brass, nickel-plated. Water-key on m.t.s. in valve section bow. Fitting for music card holder (complete with screw).Third valve lowers pitch by four semitones (doigté ministériel). Valve type: 3 `système Belge' double-piston valves. Repair History: Repair to bell section stay at joint end, functional but out of character. Overall size: 1090; bell 179. Bore: at mouthpiece receiver (minimum bore), 10.7; not expaning in 100mm from mouthpiece receiver; m.t.s. bore, 11.4 - 11.7; v.t.s. (3,2,1) bore, 12.2; valve section joint 12.2. Dia of mouthpiece receiver; m.r.t. 10.7 not tapered. Stamped on bell "P VAN CAUWELAERT / BREVETE / BRUXELLES" and inscribed by a different technique "H. GERMAIN" with a foliage pattern below (presumably an owner's name). Only item: one milled nut missing from button linkage of 1st valve. (The other two are not identical, so presumably one is a replacement). Usable pitch: Plays c 80 cents above A⁴ = 440Hz.
