DescriptionTechnical description: Made to the same specification as (2525) above. According to the firm's archives [instruments books], the instrument was "Herald's Trumpet", made in a batch of two. Overall size: 678; bell 133. Sounding length: minimum 1985. Bore: mouthpipe at c 20mm from mouthpiece receiver (minimum bore) 11.1; at 992mm from bell end, c 11.1; at c 347mm from bell end, 15.7; at 17.9mm from bell end, 81.7. B = 0.80. Bell cutoff = 1100 Hz. Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 11.8 - 11.1. Inscribed on bell "TRADE MARK / BOOSEY" in trumpet & banner trademark, "BOOSEY & CO / MAKERS / 295 REGENT STT / LONDON / 82501". Performance characteristics: Good tone; well in tune with mouthpiece (2528). Usable pitch: Plays c 40 cents above A⁴ = 440 Hz. Decorative features: Wound with green cord, with tassels. Purchased by lender with, probably formerly used with and possibly supplied by manufacturer with mouthpiece (2528); also possibly formerly used with and possibly supplied by manufacturer with mouthpiece (2526); purchased by lender with and formerly used with instrument (2525) which is similar.
