DescriptionTechnical description: Tube, depth 130 mm, internal diameter 70 mm, shaped wooden resonator made from markhumia platycalyx. This tree is known in Uganda under the native name Lusambia. Skin sound table nailed to tube with eight wooden nails; string of sisal; wood tuning peg inserted through the back of the fretless neck, and goat-tail decoration at top of the neck. Playing accessories: lump of rosin stuck on side of tube. Bow: Bow of can (2035), bent almost into a semicircle; sisal string. General usage of type: smallest sie of three. |
