DescriptionTechnical description: The round, slightly convex, ironwood stick ends in a rounded battle-axe head with a small, round eye on the finger side. The bow has an open, screw-mechanism, rounded, ivory frog and an ivory button which is cylindrical with a knob on the end. Measurements: Weight: 32mm. Hair length: 333.5mm. Balance point: 154mm. Head height: 19.7mm. Head width: 8.45mm. Face length: 24.8mm. Tip diameter: 6.1mm. Frog diameter: 8.25mm. Nipple range: 2.2mm to 2.5mm. Period of oscillation: 1.06. Distance from pivot to tail: 68.25mm. Button length: 18.35mm. Ferrule width: 7.9mm. Frog + stick height: 29.45mm. Frog top length: 36.45mm. Inscriptions: There is a pencilled "3" on the thumb side of the frog with scratches next to it, making it appear to be "t 3". Another number has ben erased and is illegible, but appears in strong light if viewed from the correct angle. Decorative features: none. The head is chipped under the hair on the finger side. The frog is crackd along the centre from the front curve, on the finger side. The top of the frog is chipped off on the finger side in front of the screw eye. The button is cracked and split all along one side and at the end. The heel of the frog is cracked and scratched. There are marks on top of the frog underneath the stick around the screw eye.
