DescriptionTechnical description: Blackwood with ivory ferrules and thumb-rest, and silver keywork. Five pieces: mouthpiece, barrel, upper section, lower section, and bell. Original named ebony mouthpiece grooved for cord. All keys mounted in wooden blocks. Levers for L4, tone-hole and key for R4 mounted in a bell shaped swelling.13 keys. L0: T; speaker. L1: T; throat A♮; throat A♭. L2: T. L3: T; E♭₄/B♭₅; lever for F₄/C₆. L4: C♯₄/G♯₅; E₃/B♮₄; F♯₃/C♯₅. R1: T; side E♭₄/B♭₅; side trill key for throat A-B♮ and B♭-C. R2: T. R3: T; B♭₃/F♮₅; side B♮₃/F♯₅. R4: T; G♯₃/E♭₅. Keyhead type: flat round. Keymount type: wooden blocks and swelling. Inscribed on all pieces with double headed eagle / "S KOCH / WIEN" / star; sections also stamped "B". (5291), (5490), and (5491) in a wooden box line with soft pale beige leather. also in box one for extra barrel for each instrument, 3 original named mouthpieces, 1 unstamped rosewood mouthpiece in a case, cord, and a key for the box.
