DescriptionTechnical description: Silver-plated brass; with bit, shanks for B♭ and A, crooks for A♭, F and E. The 1st and 3rd valve tuning-slides have a bore of 12.05mm, but the bore of 2nd is only 11.7mm: it is uncertain whether this is a deliberate design feature or the result of manufacture from pieces of tubing easily available at the time. With fitting for music-card holder. Valve type: 3 Stölzel valves with metal partitions. Repair History: The A shank barely fits the instrument so is probably a replacement; the B♭ shank fits, but matches the A shank so is also possibly a replacement. |
