DescriptionTechnical description: Brass with german silver stay and thumb ring plates; oval wrap; garland width 30mm. The 1st and 2nd valve tuning-slides are interchangeable to offer either conventional or `catholic' fingering. Valve type: 3 rotary valves, touchpiece mounted on spring drums, cork buffers mounted on valve caps. Repair History: There are several patches and an added german silver sleeve on the main tube where the instrument is held by the left hand; the main tuning-slide has possibly been extended by up to 2 × 30mm 60mm. |
