DescriptionTechnical description: Silver-plated brass. A tenor trombone with a thumb valve that doubles the sounding length. A second slide can optionally be moved with the main slide allows the instrument to be played as a contrabass using the same slide positions as for a tenor trombone. The valve loop, apart from the auxiliary hand slide, is demountable and is detached for transport. Lock for auxiliary slide to keep it from moving when played in tenor mode. With lever air release key for auxiliary slide and water keys on main hand slide (siphon), auxiliary hand slide (lever), and valve loop (lever). Valve type: Single Périnet valve for L1, bottom-sprung, alignment by key on piston engaging with channel in casing interior. |
Other InformationGeneral usage of type: Clément Fournier, born 17.10.1864, entered the Paris Conservatoire 8.11.1889 in the class of Louis Allard. He entered the Musique de la Garde républicaine before 1894 as 5th trombone, not mentioned after 1911. This model was presented at the Exposition Universelle de Paris of 1900, and was played by Fournier in a concert in 1909. |
