DescriptionTechnical description: Brass with german silver garland, ferrules, bow guard, stays, and valve parts. The mouthpiece receiver is on a cranked bit with cylindrical tenon, effective length 65; the cranked bit fits into an angled connector with cylindrical tenon, effective length 100. The main tuning-slide incorporates an auxiliary slide and can be assembled in two ways, for high pitch or for low pitch; for high pitch the auxiliary slide is not part of the windway. With water-key on the main tuning-slide; no fitting for music-card holder. Valve type: 4 rotary valves, touchpieces on spring drums, cork buffers mounted on spindles. Repair History: The penultimate section of tubing (from 440mm to 120mm from the bell end) is a replacement. |
