DescriptionTechnical description: Silver-plated brass. A double-bell euphonium with the bell change valve positioned in the windway before the three normal valves, the passages through these valves of different bore diameters. The bell change valve is operated by a pull ring for L0 (rather than pushing down a touchpiece). The small (trombone) bell can be rotated to be directed within a limited range and restrained by two thumb screws in the joint collar. With water-key for wide bell windway placed before the playing valves and with water-key for narrow bell windway placed after the playing valves. With fitting for music-card holder.
Valve type: 3 Périnet-type valves with long pistons, bottom-sprung, alignment by tacquet on piston engaging with slot in casing interior; 1 Périnet-type valve for bell change, top (compression) sprung, alignment by tacquet on piston engaging with slot in casing interior.
Repair History: The narrow bell tuning-slide has been extended by replacing the bow with three smaller bows. |
