Description
Technical description: Bookmatched soundboard of spruce. The grain is narrow and straight. Bridge of beech with ivory saddle. Oval shaped soundhole 70mm wide and 39.5mm deep. Purfling around the soundhole of an edging of rosewood and then alternate strips of maple and rosewood (four of each). The purfling around the edge of the soundboard is of an edging of alternate sections of maple and square of rosewood, with alternate strips of rosewood (4) and maple (3). There is a rosewood scratchplate below the soundhole. There is a metal plate at the bottom with four pins to hold the strings. 17 ribs of rosewood with maple spacers. The outside ribs are much wider than the others. Wide rosewood capping piece which extends (using another piece of rosewood on each side) around all of the instrument. Neck and head veneered in rosewood. Brass machine heads with bone buttons. Fingerboard of rosewood, glued on top of the soundboard. |
