DescriptionTechnical description: Silver-plated brass; French bell rim; main tuning-slide pulls forwards. Patent conical bore; windway runs mouhpiece receiver - 2 - 1 - 3 - main tuning-slide - bell. Main tuning-slide can be pulled for A (with inscribed gradation at 40mm, maximum pull 82mm). With finger-ring for R4 and fitting for music-card holder mounted on 3rd valve tuning-slide; with water-key on main tuning-slide. Valve type: 3 Périnet valves, bottom-sprung, alignment by key on piston. Inscribed on bell "TO THE LATE / QUEEN VICTORIA" / lion-and-unicorn emblem / "BY APPOINTMENT / Patent / RUDALL CARTE & CO. / Manufacturers / 23 / BERNERS STREET / OXFORD STREET / LONDON / 5634"; stamped on valve casings, top caps and bottom caps "1", "2", "3".
