DescriptionTechnical description: Silver-plated brass. The Synchrotonic system for this 3-valve instrument follows the later of the two patents cited (24874) with a minor variation. The main characteristic of the 3-valve Synchrotonic system is that in addition to the main tuning-slide, there is a tuning-slide for each valve operated singly and a tuning-slide for each pair of valves operated in combination (seven slides in total). The windway runs mouthpiece receiver - 3 - 2 - 1 - 3 - m.t.s. - bell when no valves are operated. The valves are not compensating but follow the double principle: the 1st and 2nd valves are double with the 3rd as master, and the 1st valve is also double with the 2nd as master., , , , , , , , , , , , , Valve type: 3 Périnet-type valves., Repair History: The mouthpipe appears to be a replacement. The main tuning-slide was extended by the insertion of two U-bows to lower the pitch of the instrument, subsequently removed (2016). |
